Executive coaching
Senior leadership brings a unique set of challenges. Decisions carry greater weight, roles are less defined and expectations can be competing or unclear. Leaders are often required to perform under sustained pressure, manage complexity and influence outcomes through others, while having limited space to think openly.
We work with organisations to support senior leaders through one-on-one executive coaching. This may involve supporting leaders who are stepping into more senior roles, navigating increased complexity, or working through challenges related to influence, decision-making or leadership impact.
Our approach to executive coaching is reflective, psychologically informed and grounded in organisational realities. The work provides a confidential space for leaders to examine how they are thinking, deciding and showing up, and how their leadership is experienced by others. We focus on strengthening judgement, perspective and self-awareness in ways that support more effective leadership over time.
Rather than addressing isolated capability gaps, executive coaching looks at the broader patterns and pressures shaping a leader’s behaviour and effectiveness. Where relevant, this includes exploring blind spots, assumptions and habitual responses, and supporting leaders to make considered adjustments that align with both organisational expectations and their own leadership values.
Schafer Group draws on extensive experience in organisational development, leadership consulting and coaching within large and complex Australian organisations. This experience informs an approach that is pragmatic, context-aware and respectful of the demands placed on senior leaders.
